Any advice on dealing with anger?

My fiance (probably soon to be not unfortunately) gets SOOOO angry at so many things. Any advice on talking to someone who gets angry? I always end up crying which makes him angrier because I'm "making it about me." :(
Most of it is probably defensive and nothing I can do about it but any advice on NOT escalating things would be great. If I wait until he's "cooled down" he gets mad again that I ruined his good mood. :/

Hey babe, I have a family full of anger issues and even struggle with them myself. Only difference is when I'm with my boyfriend, we've figured out a system and acknowledged that I've taken bad habits from the poor environment I grew up in.
Talk with him first, and do NOT put up with him raising his voice at you. I don't care what the issue is, but you shouldn't put up with someone who supposedly cares for you just to let them make you bawl like that. Suggest anger management. Father went through it and improved in the long run, but he will continually have to attend the meetings because if it stems from his childhood- old and long habits won't go away within a year.
If he shows no want for help, shows no care for creating a cool down system when he gets heated, or even denies his anger- PLEASE leave for your sake. I can promise you, that anger will become more than words and you might not be crying but instead bleeding. It's toxic, and it will just continue to become worse if he doesn't want to fix it. I would remove myself from any hostile environment- especially in the moment. Definitely wouldn’t settle down with someone who you don’t feel safe with
