Break up or talk it out?

Me and my SO have been together 7 years. Since we were 15. He went out with friends last night and sends me a text of a bunch of nonsense. When I ask what he's talking about, he says he doesn't know, and he tried ecstacy. One of his friends brought ecstacy and offered them to all try it. He then posted on his snapchat of him out at a club dancing obviously completely drugged out. He ended up back home at like 6am covered in vomit and has been dying in bed all day. I am really not into drugs and I was really disappointed in him. Should I talk it out with him because I do really love him.

I mean talk to him but in my opinion if he tried something once and was honest with you about it then it isn't a huge deal. Throwing 7 years of relationship away for 1 choice/evening he may have made a bad judgement call is a bit extreme. Things happen in relationships, especially when you are young but no relationship will be without issues so if you love him just tell him you aren't comfortable with him trying drugs and have a conversation. And if this bump is enough to end you guys it wasn't probably going to work out later in the end as life gets much tougher and bigger things will come up than 1 night with a dumb choice

I wouldn’t break up with someone over them having one party night, especially if I loved them. But it’s your relationship and your decision. If it’s truly a deal breaker for you, then move on.

After 7 years, he should know how you feel about drugs. If it’s a deal breaker, then it’s a deal breaker. I’d talk to him and feel it out, but you ultimately have to do what’s best for you. This would be a breech of my trust if my husband did this since we’ve been together 9 years and he knows my stance and feelings about drugs. I personally wouldn’t divorce over this, but it would make me take a hard look at our relationship.

Yes discuss it with him and tell him Drugs are a deal breaker for you, depending on how he reacts to it if you feel that strongly then end it

Dating is about observing and communicating. If this isnt a norm for him I would communicate. At his age it is kinda understandable wanting to relax and have fun but there should be boundaries that do not risk legal consequences. I would talk to him about it and tell him ur concerned. I also would mention drug usage isnt ok with you. Then ..... observe. Observe his response and his actions afterwards. People are allowed to fall short.... but how they handle your concerns and how they course correct themselves is aomething that women need to observe in a relationship be cause it can fortell how your partner will handle life, issues, and your relationship in the future. And it will be hrd if u hve the added responsibilities of relying on them after marriage and kids. So spot red flags now. Learn good healthy relationship communication now. And be willing to walk away if they violate you.
