If they don't get back to you do you assume you don't have the job??

I had my very first job interview the other day, they said I'd hear back from them by yesterday but I haven't heard anything. Does that mean I didn't get the job?? I'm very new to this

Call them and ask if there is a manager available. Once you have the manager on the phone say "I was just calling in regards to get an update on my application" that's the perfect thing to ask a potential employer before or after an interview

Yeah it’s really up in the air. I’ve heard of people waiting weeks when they said they’d get back a lot sooner and still get the job. I just wouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket. Unless they’re chocolate eggs

Maybe but maybe not. They could have had last minute interviews or haven't made a decision yet. You could always call and follow up with them
