Hair?

Hi yall, I'm white/Asian, my husband is African American. We're having a boy and my husband was asking if we could grow his hair out and teach him his culture with hair and all that. Which I'm all for! Unfortunately I have no experience with curly hair and my husband has to keep his short for the army. And he's never had a baby before and his mom never allowed him to grow his hair out or learn how to care for it himself. I was wondering if any of you mom's or dad's could help me out with hair care products to get and tips and tricks for his hair. My husband has very tight coils and very dry hair. I have pin straight fine dry hair. So he has the whole in-between of types of hair he could have! I'd just like to prepare in advance! I don't mean to offend anyone I just really want to be prepared and not ruin his hair 😅
