Can you over feed a breastfed newborn?

So this might be a stupid question but my son is going through cluster feeding phase right now. (I think)
 He's 5 weeks old and he never used to spit up before but now he's spiting up pretty much after each feeding. I know babies spit up and it's normal. But he always seems uncomfortable after he's done nursing, and I assume it's just cuz he needs to burp, but now he just spits up after. Sometimes he'll burp and continue to fuss until he spits up.
And Google is just confusing me.

You can’t overfeed a breastfed baby. Spit up is normal as long as its not the whole feed coming up everytime in a projectile manner. Maybe take baby off for a few breaths during the feed, then latch on again. I think sometimes the milk can be fast flowing and they need a little break to catch up!

You can overfeed if you are bottle feeding, but not if baby is nursing directly. There's a huuuuge cluster feeding period around 4-6 weeks so it might be the reason. My oldest also had periods where he would eat so much that it came up again, but he wanted to nurse again minutes later so his doctor wasn't concerned. Helped to keep him upright for quite some time afterwards too.

Nope. They can adjust their suck so that they can remain latched and “nursing” while limiting or even stopping the flow of milk so they’re not actually eating the whole time. Basically sucking a human paci. Bottle fed with breast milk or formula, you can absolutely over feed but not if feeding directly from the best. Could be a problem with something you’ve been eating, like dairy? Could be reflux? Def good to have a conversation with your doc about it

You can’t over feed, but also talk to your pediatrician. He might have an allergy to something in your diet. My daughter was very fussy and would spit up after breastfeeding, and I cut out dairy. Now she’s fine. A lot of babies have diary allergies.

Yes!!! I had a huge milk supply and extremely forceful letdown though. So when they cluster fed and increased my supply both my babies would puke everywhere bc they would get way too much

U cant overfeed a breasfeed baby the plubblem I'm having is that my 2 months old wants brestfeed and bottle but now that she is almost 3 months old iv been breastfeeding her first then I bottle feed her 4 ounces of formula with 2 soups of otemail in it and it feels her up iv did this with all my kids and it worked when my baby was not ganing weight that's what I did and it worked just don't tell your baby's doctor what you're doing to help her gane to weigh you baby is a little Young for otemail right now u could give her 1 suop at 4 weeks old

My baby spits up if she’s had too much, but she also does if ive had coffee; she’s going through a leap or I’ve eaten foods that don’t agree.
