Any information will help

My period is 5 days late. I’ve been having very light spotting for about 4 days it’s brown in colour and as I am aware that means it’s old blood. I’m not sure if I should class this as a period or maybe by a pregnancy test? My periods are usually heavy and sometimes spotting the first day but then proper bleeding after that. I was told last month I had a ovarian cyst. Idk if that makes any difference tho.
