2nd+ time mamas

Courtney

I have a weird question lol.

With my first, I went "into labor" at 35+4. I had no idea but during an NST the midwife thought she saw contractions. We checked my cervix and I was 4cm, 100% effaced and baby was engaged. They admit me to labor amd delivery over night. I progressed to 5cm by morning and that was it.

They kept me from 35+5 without inducing or anything until 36 when they had to because of preeclampsia which I was NOT having issues with prior to the moment I did. I was hypertensive but my BP had been stable the entire time I was there until that point.

My question is (which I am going to talk to my doctor about at my next appointment I just want to know your experiences) is it normal to not try to I don't know, break your water or something at that point? I was 5cm! I'm just curious if any of you have progressed that far and what the outcome was.
