Emergency contraceptive fail!!!
Hello there! So, my Fiancé and I had an “accident” a few days before my ovulation date. I took ec pill (take action) less than 48 hours after the event. I had some mild cramping during the weeks leading up to my expected period, but my period day came and went...I took a pregnancy test the day after my missed period and got a bfp 😬 I took two more tests the next day, and both were also positive. I’m completely freaking out! (on the inside).
Needless to say, this was completely unexpected for us. We have talked about having children throughout our relationship but it just hasn’t been a top priority. I am just finishing grad school, I’m currently unemployed AND have no medical insurance. Also, my fiancé and I do not reside together (we both live with our parents). We hoped to buy a house once I graduated and we currently have a significant amount of money saved up for a down payment (unfortunately, the current housing market is through the roof and making home buying a challenge for us).
Also, my fiancé is the main provider at his house, as both of his parents suffer from medical issues and don’t work. He also has two children from a prior relationship that he has 50% of the time. We have accepted this pregnancy and plan to raise our baby together and move forward with our plans of home buying, marriage, etc. in due time.
I’m just seeking general advice from the Glow community here...This would be my first child (I’m so nervous, yet excited!). I sought out a local clinic to confirm my pregnancy via an ultrasound.
I know I need to tell my parents but I just don’t know how/when I should...I know my mother will give me a hard time about all of this because she has been pestering about me and my fiancé’s plans to marry and move in together for a LONG while now (We’ve been dating for 10 years now, and have been engaged for 2 years).
Any friendly insight would be so greatly appreciated!! ❤️
