Does your baby get into sitting position without help?

W

My little guy does not get into sitting position himself; he doesn’t even try actually. He is able to sit for quiet a while without any support.

I feel it’s because he’s not interested in staying in one place (to keep him sitting I need to occupy him, otherwise he slides on his hands and knees to crawl). He skipped rolling from belly to back, even though I know he can (he does it now when ‘joking’/laughing). I think for the same reason: he doesn’t seem to see the point of not being able to move around.

However, our daycare suggested to ask his dr and maybe visit a physician because of it. Also they told me to not put him in sitting position so that he’s stimulated to do it himself. They don’t put him in a high chair for this reason. This all feels a bit much to me to be honest, but want the best for him obviously! Any thoughts are much appreciated!
