Baby choosing

Hi,

Would you let your 9mo baby choose his own bedding? 🤣

See baby and I went to the shop yesterday because he's grown out of his blankets.

My husband was in meanwhile picking up our grocery order and couldn't take the baby..

So in the babyshop I was in the isle with blankets and holding the baby..

And I was looking at the one side trying to figure out the sizes of the blankets.

And baby was tapping something behind my back, so when I checked what he was tapping it was a blanket, the size we were looking for, with an average price.

So I was checking the rest of the isle on the side baby had tapped, for price-quality ratio 😅 and baby kept grabbing/reaching/staring at the same blanket over and over..

Then I noticed an isle with discounts and the exact same blanket was there (had a discount because it'd been on display) and a similar one of the same brand that was going out of stock.

So I handed him the blanket he had chosen and he held it firmly 🤣

Even when at home (it's washed now) he gets all smiley when he sees his blanket.

My husband said that allowing him to choose his own bedding (which we actually needed and went to the shop for) would spoil him..

I kinda disagree because it's something we did need.

I think it's absolutely precious that he could show his preference so clearly.

Edit for info:

I think he liked the image/color on the blanket. It was in a bag so he couldn't feel the fabric.

But I liked it too.. Might have bought it even if he hadn't been focusing on it as much.. Maybe something similar from another brand I know he likes the fabric of because we were gifted some stuff from the other brand... So it's not like I based all my decision on his preference. He just kinda wanted what we were looking for? 🤣

He's a total man already - aparantly men go into a store, take what they need and get out 🤣

@Jill

He was being a bit silly and that's how I took it too but still 🤣

@M

He's been sleeping with a blanket since day 1 in the hospital.. The nurses gave him it.

He knows very well how to get out, already even at a few weeks old.

Update: our son napping 😍

I'll make a disclosure, my child has been in blankets since birth and knows how they work. If you're note sure your kid can free itself from a blanket, don't put it asleep under one.
