Scarlet fever

Has anyone of your little ones gotten this?

Body rash, fever etc.

Can you tell me your experience with it please.

I’ve taken my 19 month old to the doctor. They tested her for flu, COVID and strep. Negative for all 3. She’s had a high fever off and on for a couple days. Super cranky. Loss of appetite. Yesterday started showing a slight rash on her chest and near her hair line and behind ears. Isn’t terrible. But she itches her head a lot. (No it’s not lice).

The doctor says the tests aren’t always 100% and that her rash and symptoms really point to strep/ scarlet fever. He put her on amoxicillin. I just want her to feel better. 😓

Edit : she had the rash before she started the amoxicillin. She doesn’t have any of the rash on her hands , feet or in her mouth.
