hiv facts?

so I’m trying to get an understanding of how getting hiv contracted works. I understand you must have blood exposure, but is that the only way unless you have regular unprotected sex with someone who does? or can you just get it after having unprotected sex with someone doesn’t also? I understand that you can’t make something out of nothing, but I’m just curious
