Olive skin baby with fair parents?

My husband and I are both very fair skinned (blonde hair, blue eyes, super white skin with freckles, etc), but our new (1 week old) baby looks like he has olive skin. He’s still slightly jaundiced, but I’m just wondering if skin color changes as babies get older? Like our baby seriously doesn’t look like ours! We did IVF and now my husband is freaking out because he thinks our embryos were mixed up. We obviously love our new son, but now I’m starting to freak out too because we have more frozen embryos that we were planning to transfer in the future and we want to make sure they’re actually our babies!

It’s just the jaundice. I thought this same thing about my son but after the jaundice was completely cleared he was fair like us.

My Daugher is darker then my husband and I. We are high considered white he does have drawer hair. But she does not look anything like us. People always assumed that she was my friends baby when I was out with her. She is from El Salvador. So yes it can happen.

My boys were both were born with slightly darker skin but they lightened up within a month or 2. However, id you guys are really concerned then maybe do a DNA test to take away the stress.

My husband is more olive than me and my son looked Tan from newborn jaundice. Now he has lily white skin like me. He's 11 months now.

My baby had tan skin her first week or so! My brain kept thinking “little nutbrown hare” from that children’s book whenever I looked at her. 
Now it’s much lighter at three months, paler than ours. It’s pretty normal for coloring to look different in the beginning. I kind of wish hers had stayed that way though. Now she looks like someone who will burn easily, poor kid.

It changes. My daughter was super tan and dark haired. She looks almost like she could have been Asian. But now shes a pale red head.

Jaundice makes babies a lot darker actually.

Our son, who was jaundiced, was much born MUCH darker than my husband and I. We didn't do IVF, so know he's ours and he looks just like my husband now. He's 2.5 now and still gets way darker than either of us in the summer. His complexion is similar to my dad's.

Skin colour does and can change as they get older. My second daughter was the darkest out of them all when born, she also had dark hair. She’s now pale and blonde.

He’s 1 week old his natural skin tone hasn’t set in. As long as he’s healthy his skin color shouldn’t be a worry.
