Newborn Feeding Help?!
I could desperately use some new mom advice.
My son is a month old now. His feeding ‘schedule’ is so bizarre and we don’t know what to do.
He eats anything from 1oz-4oz with no pattern whatsoever. This is fine during the day but at night it’s causing him to wake up every single hour because I don’t think he’s getting enough. If I try to give him 3 oz during a night feed he’ll either fall asleep while trying to feed him or take it and spit it right back up. Therefore he wakes up hungry again very soon after.
I feel like if he’d just take the 3 oz and keep it down he’d be content longer but he just grazes 24/7. 2 oz one feed then half an hour later another 2oz or 1 oz and so on.
It’s absolutely exhausting but particularly at night when he wakes up and I change feed and rock him back to sleep which all takes about a half an hour then he wakes right back up an hour later.
WHAT THE HELL DO I DO??!
He’s also sleeping mostly during the day and will absolutely not get a long stretch at night.
Do I change bottles? Formula?
The pediatrician put him on Similac Pro-Sensitive because of him spitting up.
I’m at a total loss.
Thank you for any help!!
