Swim diaper covers??!

Question

Ftm and this summer we are taking my son to the beach and to other water activities for the first time. We are going to be using disposable swim diapers but do I need a diaper cover as well as swim trunks? Like do I put the cover on and then the swim shorts or are the shorts enough? I’m sure I’m overthinking it but I just want to be prepared so we don’t run into any messes lol

You don’t need the cover up. It’s more to be cute than practicality. 
But... my family has always put a swimsuit and a long sleeve swim shirt on the youngins and attempted a hat (not all kids like hats 🤣). We did this to protect their skin and avoid sunburns. Something like this:

Again, not required! My parents have a pool so it was worth the investment to buy little outfits for their skin! Putting sunscreen on the whole body often is a pain. With these we still put in sunscreen, but it wasn’t whip arms, legs, and back. Just quick touch ups. Just wanted to throw the thought out there!

You don't need to cover the swim diapers, only if you want to. I did for my daughter because she had a cute swim suit

No, you don't need it. You can just use a swim diaper and diapose after use.
The covers are used for esthetic purpouse, like just if you want your baby to have a certain outfit or don't like the look of a diaper.
