Husband starting new career as truck driver

Anyone else’s husband/ so a truck driver? My husband is getting ready to start his career as a truck driver and was wondering how it is for you if you’re in the same boat as me. It’s said that after his training he will be able to get a local route which will have him home every night if everything goes as planned. Recently his parents have been telling him how bad of an idea it is because he has us at home (me and his 2 kids) and how he’ll be missing out on so much but I’m not understanding why they feel that way when he will more than likely be home with us every night and off two days just like any other job 🙄 is there anything I should be prepared for ? This will obviously be a good thing for us as the company is supposed to start him off making 70,000 a year. Comment below on your experiences.
