Neurology Consultation

I have had migraines for the last four years, almost daily, and they began to occur after a car accident where I had slammed my head against the window. I never got checked out after that accident. I am now being recommended to go to a neurologist, I am wondering what they usually do during the first appointment. I have never had scans, and I currently have the copper IUD. I am wondering if I need to have that removed in order to get scans?
