How much Leave does one get? What’s the difference

Between maternity leave, bonding leave and pregnancy disability? I get so so so many answers when I ask, which one does the government pay for? (First time mommy to be here) thanks

You get so many answers because it depends on your job. My job gives me 12 weeks but that doesn’t mean I get paid for those 12 weeks I just know I will have a job waiting for me when I get back .

My husband gets 16 weeks fully paid where he works. That’s for mother’s and fathers. Wether that’s adoption or biological. 
It all depends on where you live and where you work. My friend got 12 weeks from fmla. She accumulated her sick time and paid leave so she got paid for some of it but most of it was unpaid. My other friend gets 16 weeks 50% pay and her husband gets 4 weeks paid. We all live in the same state (US) just different jobs.

Depends on where you live. Most states in US are unpaid maternity leave (unless your employer chooses to pay you but they legally dont have to) but here in CA we get benefits through state disability insurance and through Paid Family Leave. I think i got around 65% of my pay when I  had my son in 2019 for 12 weeks. I think there are a few other states that do something similar.

If your in the US; Government doesn’t pay for shit lol. It’s all about your job. Your aloud 8-12 weeks leave without your job being able to fire you. But it’s almost always unpaid leave. Unless you have a great job and they have it included in your benefits. If you did have these benefits tho you’d know about them.

Everywhere is a little different. My work offers the bare minimum legal requirement of 12 weeks unpaid leave with job security. I have to use sick time and personal time to be paid for my time out of office. Thankfully, I get a good amount of time off, up to 12 weeks which I accumulate over the year. Right now I’m at 8. I’ve had to use some for a couple of really bad morning sickness days and midwife appointments. I could have 10-11 weeks by the time I deliver. I’ll have to go back whenever my time runs out because I can’t afford to go unpaid.

In missouri, usa you get 12 weeks unpaid fmla, although some companies have paid leave. Mine doesnt. I will survive on disability insurance 60% ofnpay and still have to pay medical deductible from my works health insurance. The disability is for 6 weeks after birth then I can put in 6 weeks baby bonding time. Completely unpaid. And luckily I have worked there long enough/had enough hours to qualify for all this. Otherwise nothing. Isnt it great.
