Anyone else’s 20 month old not talking?

We had my sons hearing checked and that was fine. He will say mama and occasionally say dog and ball. But that’s it. It’s so weird because he will say a word.. very clearly and associate that word correctly, but then won’t say anything for 3/4 days and then say a word again. 
We are getting him into speech therapy but wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

But he babbles and does his talk all day long lol remember that even like BA for ball counts as a word. As long as he associates it with something

Yes. We can clearly see she understands what we are saying has said many words before but won’t say it again. Her favorite word is no, baba and a couple other words but that’s it. I was going to give her a few more months before doing therapy

We are too. He started speech therapy a few weeks ago. He’s 21 months. He will say something then not say it again.
