Has anyone’s phone ever done this?

My phone was working just fine last night. I put it on the charger before bed, and when I took it off the charger this morning, it’s not working. I unplugged it, but the green light indicating it was fully charged stayed lit. I would click the home button or power button, and nothing would happen. I tried holding down the power button, nothing. I plugged it back in and unplugged it again, nothing. My husband told me to just let it sit and let the green light kill it. Then try to charge it and see if it will restart. Now that it’s on the charger again, the red charging light is not lit up and nothing else happened.

Does it sound like my phone is done for? Is there anything else I can try?
