Breastfeeding comes to an end

Carla

So my breastfeeding days came to an end. My baby is a month and breastfeeding for me was a no go. My baby did so good latching, but I think being a first time mom and the stress that comes with it, Hit my milk supply for sure.

The first three days where fine, until I stopped producing milk. You might say oh you might not see it but it’s there, but no nothing at all, the baby was loosing weight and they weighed her before and after feeding and nothing. My milk didn’t come in. We opted for formula until my milk came in.

I was breast-feeding formula feeding pumping and repeat every other hour which at least it seemed like. On the day that we took the baby to the hospital she had lost 7% of her weight which they made us go into days to see what was going on with her weight.

By then she had lost 10% of her weight which was enough to have her be put on formula completely.I then started doing mothers milk and even likes eating cookies or anything that I can get my hands on to produce more milk.

By day 8my milk it finally come in but between both breast I was producing 1 ounce mind you I was still formula feeding breast-feeding and pumping.

So it got to the point where my child was doing 2 ounces every three hours and still breast-feeding I stop pumping because my breast were so sore.

She would take my breast but at the end she would just take it to soothe her so I decided to just do it for a month and see where that would go still doing formula breastmilk.

This week I just decided to stop completely I gave her a month and I feel like that is more than enough hopefully with my next child I will have a little bit more experience and

Will have better luck breast-feeding and now what I have to do
