Sex 6 pp or till you have pp visit?

So my ob isn’t available till I’m 7 weeks pp off of i should wait for sex till then or just my 6 weeks like they tell you to? It’s my 3 baby I don’t remember how long I waited 🤨 I had a vaginal birth no complications. Just wondering what you guys are doing?

My understanding is outside of healing from tears and delivery trauma, even with a straightforward birth they say 6 weeks as the general rule as it takes that long for the cervix to close and heal - any earlier intercourse or vaginal insertion of tampons (or anything) can increase risk of an infection. I had a non complicated vaginal birth and felt ready around 2/3 weeks but am going to wait for clearance from my OB just to be on the safe side. With my previous births (c section and 2nd degree year i didn’t feel ready until way past 6 weeks)

I got my tubes tied, tried to have sex at 5 weeks pp. It doesn’t feel like I’m healed completely or it could just be that I’m nervous. 🤣🤣

I’m waiting until I see my OB but I had a second degree tear with sutures; I’m also pretty by the book so personally I’d wait, but if it’s your third child and you’re waiting for the 6 weeks and feel like you can then go for it! Just remember birth control. 😝

My six week appointment is a telehealth virtual visit as I, too, had an uncomplicated third delivery. I’d think as long as your bleeding has stopped, you’re feeling healed down there, and you have the appropriate birth control, you’re good to go!

I had no tears and I’m pretty much not bleeding anymore 🤔 and as far as bc condoms it is 😂
