Breast feeding/ bottle feeding

This is my first baby. I understand anyway he eats is the healthy way. But a lot of people are telling me I can’t breastfeed and pump for a bottle at the same time. They say it’s going to be difficult (which I’m up for the challenge). I just don’t want to personally breastfeed every three hours. I’m okay with doing a mix but I want to know if something happened someone could get him to take a bottle or my husband can do feedings. What are your personal experiences
