Am I the only one who find this logic strange

I have a 1 year old daughter her dad doesn’t do much now he did before but when I would tell his family one of them would say it doesn’t matter much about him not being around because she’s young n doesn’t understand things right now. I’m not understanding how it’s right for a mom to do everything 24/7 with no help and dad doesn’t have to be around much but he should when she’s older.
