Do I have to see my OB AND my primary?

Every time I get an OB appt, my primary doctor (who is in the same office) makes an appt for me to see him too and they are pointless!! All he does is review what the OB has already reviewed with me. My copays are not cheap, so I’m spending $60 every few weeks to see both of them regarding the same info.
Is this standard or is my primary doctor just weird?

That definitely isn’t standard.  I see my primary still for non pregnancy related issues (like I sprained my ankle last week) but not otherwise.  I’d request that you see only the OB unless you have other concerns as the additional copay is getting to be too much and you feel the appointments are unnecessary

No way - I saw my Primary a while ago and we talked about how I was trying to get pregnant during our appointment. They scheduled my next appointment as usual but she told me if I conceived to cancel it because there was no reason to see them both, and to reschedule with her for after pregnancy.

I only see my PCP during pregnancy for non-pregnancy related things that is outside of my OBs scope of practice like my carpel tunnel. But my OB has helped me figure out a pregnancy safe (or safer) medication for my migraines. I didn’t go to my PCP or my neurologist for that (though I think she called my neurologist to discuss).

Definitely strange. You don’t have to see both of them. I’d decline the appt from your regular dr unless it is necessary, but your OB should cover everything.

No, I never saw my primary unless I got sick. Some require it for the initial referral only, but there's no need to see them both simultaneously unless you have another health issue that your primary treats but not your ob and they need to coordinate care eg say you have lupus and you're pregnant then yes it would perhaps make sense.
