36 week appointment birth story
My 36 week apportionment turned into the day I got to see my baby!
I went in for my normal routine 36 weeks appointment. When I had my blood pressure taken it was at 144/101 so kinda high. So they did a round of 3 when I got to the back of the room and they all turned out sorta normal. When my doctor got in he asked me how I was I told him all that had been going on that week and that I had a headache most of the days and was feeling dizzy a lot more and he sent me to labor and delivery to be checked out out just to be safe.
When I got to labor and delivery they gave me headache meds and hooked me up the monitors. My blood pressure had gone up since then and was at 155/87 then my husband got there and normally when he gets there I start to calm down and my blood pressure goes down well it actually went even higher to 158/85. They did it again 1hr later and it was at 170/101. They gave me blood pressure meds and continued to monitor me my blood pressure started to go down for about 3 checks but then I started to contract every minute about. And it started to go up again. My contractions weren't showing on the monitor because when I moved in bed my monitor moved and wasn't picking them up and because I was having back labor. My nurse then come in and says well you came in for a headache and now your staying to have a baby. 👀 I said what!
We got over to the labor and delivery and my husband went home to grab the somewhat half packed bags and let the dogs out. They gave me pain meds since the epidural person had just went into surgery and it helped a little bit not much. The doctor came in about an hour later and broke my water and started Pitocin. I called my husband he rushed over and that's when the epidural nurse came in and my husband came back. I was checked about an hour later and was at a 5 and 90% thinned out. It keepfeeling like I needed to push so my nurse checked me again 30 mins later and was at an 8plus and 100% she said if you want try to bear down with this next contraction to see if it gets you to a 10. So I did and sure enough 6 plus nurses rush in and they call the doctor she's 15 mins out I was like no I can't make it that long she's ready now! Well I held off on pushing and 7 mins later the doctor came flying though! The nurses asked her how fast she drove and she just laughed. She put my legs up and I gave two long hard pushes and our baby girl was her at 36wks and 4days. She weighed 5lbs 15oz.
19 1/2 inches long.
4 hrs in labor
I'm doing lots better now off of the magnesium and about to go home really soon to see big sister! ❤️🥰
