Fast Labor ; 39wks 5days

At 3:30AM, I got up to use the bathroom and once I laid back down I started having cramps. I thought it wasn’t a big deal since the past few days I had a few cramps but they went away fast. These cramps were different. They were more frequent and lasted longer. I decided to take a shower and monitor the contractions with a app to see if this is really labor or not. According to the app, it was. I then started finishing my hospital bag and woke my bf up at 5:30 to get ready.

We arrived at the hospital at 6:30ish close to 7am. My bf couldn’t go in since I had to be admitted first. So as he waited in the car, I was in the admitting room. I changed in a gown and they started monitoring my baby. The contractions were still there but manageable. The nurse checked me and I was still at 21/2 ( I was at 21/2 my last doctor visit). The nurse said there going to continue to monitor to me since nothing changed.

New nurses came in and monitored me and decided they were going to admit me and started the IVs. Contractions started coming more. I had to wait for a labor room because this hospital was packed with pregnant women who did walk ins just as I did. I did my covid test and waited while in pain for something to change. The nurse checked me again and I was at a 5. I asked to get the epidural and she stated the 2 anesthesiologist were busy with C-section mama’s so I had to wait. The pain started getting more intense and I was so uncomfortable. I asked for the epidural again and the nurse said the anesthesiologist were busy and there trying to get a 3rd one in but even if they did there was still people ahead of me 🥴. At that moment I knew I was going natural. I had no choice. Around 9ish the nurse said to have my bf come in and she checked me because she noticed the pain was worser for me and said I was complete. I texted my bf to hurry and come in because I was at a 10 already. Nurses rushed in and I told them I had to push but they told me to wait since they had to get a doctor. My bf arrived and so did the doctor and with 4-5 pushes. He came right out. Crazy experience for me.
