Was it an emergency ?
My husband and I were talking with some friends we haven’t been able to see since my daughter was born last year. I was telling them my birth story.
So the short story is I labored at home actively for 24 hours after being told that it was Braxton Hicks AND not to go to the hospital because of COVID. So from 1:30AM early Monday to 2:30AM Tuesday. We got to the hospital after 2:30AM on Tuesday we’re admitted by 4:00AM. My labor stalled and my body couldn’t get passed 9.5 cm and my daughter wasn’t even down to where they could even feel her at all.
So after 37 hours I remember my doctor telling my husband and I that she wanted to schedule a room for a csection. She said that my labor was stalled and that my daughter might be too big for me (she was less than 7lbs 😂). So we said okay. That was after 2:30PM. I could barely keep conscious I was so exhausted. So they got me prepped right away and taken back to operate. My daughter was born just after 38 hours. 🙂
So the debate between my husband and I is, he says that i had a scheduled C-section and there was no emergency. He said that my doctor wanted to schedule to OR so no one took the room from them. I told him that scheduled/planned csection happen before you’ve gotten to the point of extreme exhaustion and that it was an emergency. If it hadn’t been an emergency then they wouldn’t have prepped me so quick and rushed me into a room so fast. I’m not looking for a trophy but saying it like it is.
