Do I need to feed at night?

First time mummy here.  My LO is 9 weeks now and occasionally he will sleep throughout the night. Sometimes more than 8 hours. Is this normal? Should I wake him up and feed him?

Answer

As long as baby is still gaining weight and is past their birth weight you do not need to wake him to feed him. My 2 month old starting sleeping 8-9 hour stretches at night 2 weeks ago and at his 2 month checkup the doctor said that was totally fine. My daughters were never good sleepers as infants so I'm just enjoying actually getting some rest.
