Has anyone experienced this?

I’m a first time dad, and I had a baby boy, I got almost a month of time off from work but I started to work again this week. 
Before I would grab the baby anytime but know I don’t have that much time and my wife gets mad because I choose to work (I work from home)
Any recommendations?

I would just make it clear that you have work hours and break time the same as if you were leaving the house.  Be gentle about it though as those first weeks are difficult and hormone filled

If she does everything around the house try to help out. Random acts of kindness help alot. If you use a plate don't set it down instead wash it. If you see a few dishes quickly wash them. Take the baby when you can so she can shower,  while she showers make her a sandwich.  What's her love language?? Figure that out. Her "free time" is no longer her own so give her a break here and there. If you're sitting somewhere on your phone take a look where is she ? Still doing housework?? Help out quick

It seems a bit unrealistic that she expects you to have the same level of interaction with your child that you did when you weren’t working. 
Is it more so she misses the help that you provided? Being a parent, especially, first time moms, are completely overwhelmed and they don’t always channel those feelings appropriately.

Help whenever you can but also communicate with her that you need to work to make a living for your family and see why she’s so upset. She could also be suffering from postpartum depression. Having a child changes your relationship. I suggest sitting her down and talking to her

It is hard having a partner home and not being able to help. It was an adjustment for us. My husband was clear about communicating with me but I also listened. She might be feeling overwhelmed and nervous about not having help for the first time. Keep encouraging her and letting her know she is doing a good job. Do you have a place you can work where it is private? Even if you have a corner of a room let her know that while you are there you are working and can’t help. If possible plan a lunch break time that you can be away from work for 30 minutes while you guys eat. Having a clear work schedule might help her too. If you work starting at 8 everyday, lunch at noon and done at 4 (or whatever your hours are) and stick to that schedule and communicate that with her it might help as well. Bottom line is you need to work and she needs to understand that. Congratulations on you baby!

Let her know when you're busy busy and when you're kind of busy, but could maybe hold the baby while she eats and showers. Even though you have to work, if you aren't on a call/ meeting, I would think you could still help with the baby a bit. We both work from home and have a baby, so we rotate who has her while the other is doing focused work. I don't think it's unreasonable for her to want some help during the day, especially if she is doing most of the night feeding.

I would just talk about your expectations of each other. What hours do you need to work and when can you help? You still have to do your job and get paid. But could you maybe take him once your day ends for an hour so she can get a break. She may just be exhausted and need a break which is coming off as frustrated. I know when I’m home all day with my baby I need some alone time to not be focused on him 100% so I can breath and focus again. She may be the same way.
