Any second time moms have an unmedicated birth?

Curious how it is. FTM here and trying to hear about natural birth experiences from people who have done it themselves. I obviously haven’t had contractions so I can’t imagine what the pain is like. Anyone wanna share any and all of your experiences?? Would you do it again?? Anything helps! Thanks!!

I have had 2 unmedicated hospital births. 
First one was 21 hours in labor
Second one was 16 hours in labor
I would say the pain kinda seemed the same with both. But i took it one contraction at a time. Labored at home as long as possible by myself. The second time i labored at home, i did have my 2 year old at the time with me, but it was screen day for him haha. I labored at home until Like my contractions were about 2 minutes apart. When i got to the hospital, i did NOT answer ANY questions during contractions. And i didnt let anyone speak for me either. I may Hve been a slight bitch at times,but i had pretty smooth births because i stood my ground. 
This time around planning the same things. And my plan is to always go with the flow. Im really not a bitch, but know the tactics of asking if the mom wants pain meds during a tough contraction is NOT ok. 
Take one contraction at a time. 
Remember, there will be breaks in between each contraction. And the longer they last, the closer you are to seeing your smush. 
I throw up during intense labor towards the end, so sucking on ice helped keep me hydrated a bit during it all. 
My water doesnt break on its own, so i dont allow them to break my water until im ready to push. 
Adopt a saying to get you through. Mine was pain is weakness leaving the body. And it legit feels like the beat workout in the world with the Besssst reward. 
Focus focus focus! 
And number one... you got this! Medicated, unmedicated, c section... what ever... you are a warrior for bringing that baby earth side! Do what makes YOU comfortable and happy!

I did completely unmedicated and plan to again. Baby being in a good position makes a huge difference, so bounce on the exercise ball whenever you can and try not to recline. Also squat instead of bending over when you need to pick something up. Make sure you are well informed about giving birth so you will be comfortable and confident with the whole process. Definitely recommend reading some books on unmedicated birth and the benefits for you and baby.

My first was induction with epidural and horrid back labor. It only worked on one side, unfortunately. Recovery from epidural wasn't really an issue for me as I was forced to be bed ridden anyway because I was on magnesium sulfate for preeclampsia.
For my second, I wanted to try epidural again since I didn't have back labor and I hoped it would work on both sides. As it turns out, I was dilated to 7cm by the time I got to the hospital and baby came before they could give me one. 
The pain was horrible, but honestly back labor (even though it was only on one side) was way worse. I was doing well handling it until I found out they wouldn't be giving me an epidural. Then, I kind of panicked, which made everything worse. 
Hoping I can try epidural this time, but who knows lol.

I had my daughter 13 years ago and didn't really plan on having an un-medicated birth but it happened. I was perfectly fine dealing with the contractions up until I was 7-8cm dilated. To ease the pain they gave me gas and air. After 5-10 minutes of that I projectile vomitted all over my mother who was a good meter away from me. I hate being sick, im the kind of person who would do absolutely everything not to be sick so I refused to have that anymore. Then I was in so much pain and not handling very well. Because to me it felt like there a car running over my stomach I couldn't speak up to ask for more pain relief. My mother was doing her best to soothe me but I just couldn't stop screaming. So the nurse decided to jab me with pethidine and within seconds of her doing so I pushed and baby was out. This time round I am definitely not going though that again I'm requesting and epidural as soon as I can 🙈

I had an unmediated labor with my first and plan on going it again. I agree with a lot of these suggestions (I.e. open and positive mindset, you’re doing it for YOU, one contraction at a time). I don’t remember a whole lot about the pain, I definitely felt it, but really succumbed to it and breathed through it. I felt free to be in any position I wanted and had everyone work around me. For example, I was on my hands and knees for most of it and my doula had to hold the monitor on my belly because of the position I was in. I didn’t care and obviously she didn’t mind. Be open and lean into it. It’s a natural process and you’re body is made to go through it.

I’m trying to do unmedicated this time. Last time I had an epidural that didn’t really work and completely failed during my emergency c section. I hated being confined to the bed, the catheter and the back pain I had after. The advice I’ve been hearing is that oh yeah it hurts bad but it’s way better after. I also labored for a long time without the epidural so I can def vouch for the pain.

I will hopefully do it again this time! My first experience was back labor and I begged and begged for one and while they placed it I had to push and it didn’t kick in until I was being stitched. I had back pain for over a year after having it. My second I was completely med free and I felt like a super hero

I've had two unmedicated births and will have a 3rd in Aug. My suggestion is to go in with a positive mindset and make sure this is something you want to do for you and nobody else. There are many videos on YouTube about different techniques on how to cope with the pain. For me I just focused on getting through one contraction at a time and didn't look at the meter to see how hard the contractions were coming. Good luck momma!

Mine wasn’t fully unmedicated I went in 9 cm dilated and was a 10 before the epidural was even in . It was honestly the most painful thing ever . You really can’t understand the pain until it happens. But call me crazy.. I plan on doing this one unmedicated only because I don’t do well with anesthesia . The epidural made me feel like crap and took waaaaaay longer then it should to wear off . If it’s what you want tho I say go for it but don’t beat yourself up if you need meds :)
