Did you know June is Hip Dysplasia awareness month? We had never even heard of DDH (developmental hip dysplasia) until Our daughter was born, but now I hear all kinds of success stories from people I never even knew had it!

When she was diagnosed with DDH at birth, we were devastated. We didn’t know what it would mean for her and couldn’t help but worry that she wouldn’t have a normal childhood. I was even envious of people who didn’t have to deal with this and struggled to accept that we had a long journey ahead of us. But as time has progressed, we have accepted her diagnosis and reassured ourselves that at least it can be fixed!

She has blown us away with her resilience during this experience. She has been in and out of braces since she was two weeks old but has continued to be the happiest little girl. Unfortunately neither brace helped her hips develop properly and we are scheduled for surgery in September. Though this experience has been long, and 12 weeks In a cast sounds awful, I know She

will do amazing and continue to be our happy girl. This experience has only made us stronger and shown us what a special girl we have 💜

Success stories are always appreciated!
