Baby shower for each child?

Question

Growing up it seemed so taboo to have a baby shower for any child other than your first. Today we see multiple showers for the first baby, a shower for each baby, a "sprinkle", and of course the gender reveal parties. 
So just a fun little poll, what do you think? 
Does it depend on if the second child is the opposite gender? Or if you have your children years apart? Let me hear it mamas!

I find it tacky unless you meet these certain criteria. 1) second baby is a different sex. 2) said baby has a large age gap from the first and you got rid of everything. 3) said baby came after a recent move and you had to get rid of everything. 4) said baby doesn’t have the same set of parents from the other child(ren). I had my daughter 3.5 years ago and saved everything. And I moved to a house since. Now I’m having a boy but not a shower. I still registered for everything I need. But it’s not the big stuff. If someone wants to give a gift they can. But no one is obligated to by being invited to a shower.

I think all babies should be celebrated even if it’s with a diaper shower. Most people love baby showers. They aren’t usually about people being greedy or tacky. I’m pregnant with #2 and wasn’t sure if anyone would want to throw me a shower. I’d never ask for one. I found out yesterday that my
Church plans to throw me one. I’m not going to lie. I’m pretty excited about it. I saved everything from my son (2.5) except his swing since I didn’t like it. Every baby deserves something just for them. This one is a girl, so I’ll need different clothes. I think people can just do what they want. It’s not right or wrong! And why do people care so much? If you find it tacky, don’t go 🤷🏼‍♀️

Baby shower for a first because we had nothing and I was kind of forced into it… but not with baby #2 or any other babies we might have.

Im having my second its a girl my first was a boy. I’m planning what they call a diaper party just each guest bring diapers wipes baby laundry detergent and some medicine like gas drop gripe water and probiotic drops. I have all the big stuff from my son but diapers and wipes or even money are always useful

I don’t think it’s necessary when you can recycle your items if it’s the same gender. If someone choose to throw me one after I have my first child then great I’ll be appreciative but I would more than likely save whatever I could from the first

The whole point is getting stuff for your baby. With the second, you already have the stuff. No point, in my opinion. Maybe a little get together if thats important, but certainly no gifts

We were supposed to have a meet the baby party after our youngest was born when he was 3 months old (after first round of vaccines) but then Covid happened. Hoping if we have a third we can do something.

I was told that having a second baby shower (and third) was greedy and tacky because my kids are 13 and 12 months apart. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My family wanted to throw one for my two previous kids, opposite genders. With my second, I opted for a meet and greet after the birth party instead. I hate that people feel obligated to bring gifts. With my second, I tried to avoid the gift thing by doing it after the birth, but people still brought them.
My mother wanted to do another shower for my current (3rd) but I told her please no. I have what I need and I also hate being the center of attention (introverted) so I'd rather skip it if they don't mind...plus the whole gift thing as mentioned above. I'm just going to send picture announcements to everyone after the birth instead.
