Baby not in his own room

I just need a rant because it’s really annoying me.

But my mum and my mil and family friends all keep saying to me “so are you going to put baby in his own room because he is sleeping better”

Or “you’ll get more sleep if he is in his own room” or “I put my baby in their own room at 3 weeks old because they were noisey sleepers”

And comments like that all the time.

Why is there this expectation or rush of a baby going in his own room?

My job is not to sleep better either, I’m fine waking up a few times a night for feeds, and yes he is a noisey sleeper but at least I know he is okay because I can hear him next to me.

I should mention he is only 12 weeks old but i was planning on keeping him in my room for a while, I like having him there.

Anyway what are your thoughts? Your parents or in law make any annoying comments about things they did when they had babies that you dont do?
