Americans: are you for or against the death penalty?

I’m not American but I voted For It. Some people just deserve to die for the crimes they commit.

I’m for it. 🤷🏾‍♀️Some people don’t deserve to live with the crimes they committed. If it can be proved without a doubt that they did it, kill them.

I’m for it if an abhorrent crime can be proven with solid evidence.

If there was 100% certainty that they did the crime, and it was something absolutely horrible and the victims family wanted it. Then sure, I’d be for it. But far too often people are innocent. 
I’ve seen cases where the victims family doesn’t even want them to be executed, so why are we doing it? Whats the point? I don’t understand that at all.

I’m against a government killing it’s own citizens. 
Death sentences disproportionately affect Black and brown people and there are numerous cases of people being exonerated after being killed- innocent people losing their life for a crime they did not do. The criminal justice system is not fair or equitable in its punishments and will always be prejudice in who it impacts. The government shouldn’t be allowed to kill its own citizens.

Sometimes I think i'm for it but i'm really not. The system in America is too corrupt to give people the right to choose if someone should live or die. There are far better punishments than that to be honest.

I don't trust the system to get it right. Too many innocent people locked up and guilty people walking free as it is.
