Would this be a normal thing to do?

Hello ladies!
I recently started BC pills and I’m on my first 28 days set. I’ve finished the hormone ones for the first three weeks and I was wondering if you have to take the white pills AKA the placebo pills or can you skip them. I haven’t had a period in a month due to starting these pills before I started. So I was wondering if that would be a normal thing to do? I did some research and I read it was normal if you just wanted to skip into the next week of hormones but I’ve always thought you had to have a period regardless.

You don't have to take the placebo ones. They're placebo. They're in there so you get used to taking a pill everyday at the same time and dont forget and have the same window for your period every time. If you can remember without that, do as you like. Directly going into a new pack to avoid a period can be done, however I wouldn't do it with your first 3 sets. It's also not recommended to do it often. I did it for a concert once. If you want to do it always speak to your Doc.

If you’re on a regular combination pill, you can just open up a new pack of pills instead of taking the placebo, to skip your period. You don’t “need” to get your period. But just make sure you’re taking a combination pill and not a mini-pill (micronor - progestin only), as they contain progestin in all 28 pills (no placebo), so you do need to take them all.
