Testicular soreness😩

My boyfriend and I have had sex almost everyday for the past 2 weeks. Now he’s complaining that his balls are sore and he wants to hold off on having sex which is fine but, we’ve held off for about a 5 days now and they’re still sore. His soreness isn’t consistent though he just has moments where they start to hurt and then the pain goes away. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what was the result? Should we go to the doctor?
