Finally setting boundaries

I was told I was petty because I refuse to speak to or be in the same room as my little sister. We are 10 months apart but the way she has treated me through life you would think we were enemies I mean natural enemies like Tom & Jerry.

From the time she could walk and talk she has literally been a pain in the ass. I tried for years to be a good sister for our parents sake but the final nail in the coffin is when she purposely fucked the man I was a month away from marrying and rubbing it in my face in front of our parents. This is not the first guy of mine she's gone after just the first to fall for it.

I moved away, haven't seen her in 7 years, she still talks shit about me not being there for her or just talks shit about me in general. I think our disconnect has alot to do with me being an introvert all my life while she's a very loud, obnoxious extrovert. That's where it all begin we've been oil and vinegar ever since.

My parents really struggled in the pandemic not being able to see us or their grandchildren so now that we're all vaccinated they want to have a family feast but I set a boundary, I will not attend any function my sister is at. I understand the concept of family but that woman is not my sister, she doesn't behave like a sister DNA alone does not make her a sister. I refuse to have my children around her, I trust my husband and he doesn't even want to be around her.

My parents are freaking out because I feel like I'm making them choose but either way some of us will be uncomfortable and it surely will not be my sister. She's the cause of so much chaos she doesn't get along with anyone, her friendships don't last long at all. She's always arguing with somebody over dumb, petty things. She is not a person I ever want to be around. I'm feeling like my parents are the problem being that they always coddled her when she behaved this way but was always digging into my behind about everything!
