Third hand smoke

My MIL is a smoker and is currently staying with us a for a week. Pediatrician told us that she should wash her hands/face/change clothes before holding baby however she has not been changing her clothes.. my husband said he talked to her but I am thinking he left out this important info. I’m really nervous that the third hand smoke will impact my newborn. Is third hand smoke impact newborns after repeated exposure or since this is such a short time this will not impact him. I hate to say anything especially after she said she felt uncomfortable after I took a blanket out of my baby’s bassinet.
