Hormonal acne

What helped y'all with hormonal acne? I'm mid 20s and have worse acne than I did when I was a teen.. it hurts constantly. I've gone to two different doctors and both prescribed me different things yet nothing has worked so far. They also said Accutane will only temporarily help hormonal acne. I've never tried birth control but considered it. I've looked into certain powders and pills for balance but I've already spent thousands on my skin in the past few years. any suggestions?
