How much did you spend on your baby shower?

Planning my baby shower for my first child. I want everything to be perfect. Perfection equals expensive. Things to pay for photographer/ photo booth, dj, venue, food, decorations. Just wondering how much yall spent or plan to spend. I had a gender reveal I spent about $500 but that’s because it was a home event and did everything myself except the food cake and balloon arch. Please comment and vote.

0…. My friends threw my shower and it was at a friends house with nothing fancy like a photographer or DJ… I’ve never been to a shower that fancy ever.

$0 because my friends and family threw the baby showers for us. It’s considered poor etiquette where I’m from to throw your own shower. I don’t know anyone who has ever hired a photographer or DJ for a shower. Even renting a venue or hiring a caterer is stretching it. Everyone just has them at someone’s house and people pitch in making food. But I also come from pot-luck country where it’s just assumed that a gathering of people means you’re bringing a hotdish.

We spent about 2000. It was worth it for my first baby ! We had a venue , decor, catered food, cakes , cupcakes handled by event planner . Plus my dress and MUA. Here’s a few pictures .

For both kids- 2 showers but only 1 I did myself- 300 maybe. If that. DIY stuff, no need for photographer but my sister is one professionally anyways (plus everyone has phones), no special outfit. Nice cake, good simple meal, drinks.
