Baby food.. bad mom?

Question

I started my 5 month old baby on baby food. We did apples,carrots, and green beans throughout the last month and he LOVED it. My friend told me I was a bad mother for buying this store brought food instead of making my own food. I prefer buying the store brought food. Does this make me a bad mom? Is this HORRIBLE?

I’m sure she’s the same type of woman that would shame a woman for not breastfeeding her child. You have to do what is right for you, your child and your family. I exclusively pumped for my daughter and made 95% of her baby food, and that worked for us but I would have been absolutely ok with formula and store bought food too if that’s what worked for us. Women need to stop putting other women down for doing what they feel is best for them and their families.

It’s fine. Millions of parents use store bought baby food. Great for those who don’t. Great for those who do. Your kid is being nourished and that’s what matters.

You should UNfriend this person. Anyone who's disrespectful by your parenting choices is not a good friend. If you're not puttin your child in harms way she has no place bashing you. 
There are healthier alternatives to traditional baby food- there's organic, and there's homemade which is better for baby but not always convenient . But you're feeding your child, and you can do it how ever you please.

That's all I did with my first was stop bought purees and she is a happy healthy 2 yr old. I have don't more homemade with my second but it can be a little time consuming, so I will eventually do store bought too. Some people are just ignorant.
