Thoughts on 2017 and newer Acadias as a family vehicle?

RyRy

Due to getting rear-ended this weekend, I am now in the market for my new family car. I’ll be upgrading from an 07 Ford Edge I’ve had for 7 years. I really want something with 3rd row seating (as well as the 2-2-3 seating option) and have thought about the new Acadias or traverses for a while.

I’ve always LOVED the look of Acadias but the 2017 and newer models have me slightly disappointed; the seem so much smaller than the 2016 and older versions. They only have 2 backseats and the trunks look so much smaller as well.

We only have an 18 month old, but want to have 1 or 2 more kids. Can 2 car seats fit in the back of the new Acadias? Is the trunk space really small, or is it still a decent size? Overall does the Acadia seem to accommodate a family of 4-5 easily or could you use more space?

I do also love the 2018 and newer traverses and they seem to have everything I’d want (3 seats in back and bigger trunk space), but they tend to be a lot more expensive than the Acadias.

I have not driven either vehicle yet but REALLY wanted to know ppls thoughts on the Acadias. If they leave a lot to be desired as a family vehicle, I don’t want to even spend the time looking into them.
