Down Syndrome Possibility
At our 20 week ultrasound the Dr. going a EIF or Echogenic Cardiac Focus on the left ventricle of the baby’s heart. This is considered a low marker for Down Syndrome. This is the only indicator they found. We were told the risk was low but they wanted us to do a Panorama blood test to test for chromosome abnormalities. The test came back that there was an increased risk of Down Syndrome. The Dr. didn’t say how much of a risk which is frustrating because we already knew there was a risk. They want us to see a genetic counselor and get an Amniocentesis to get a definitive diagnosis. Has anyone had a similar experience? What was the outcome?
