Hold on to your hats yall PART 2
So my original post is causing my phone to lag because of its length, and there is SO much more going on that I wasn't able to add. So here we go... AGAIN!
If anyone is confused by the situation of wanting my ex's wife to adopt my oldest son, there is a whole post detailing that and what my intentions are.
As for my current situation with DHS, you might want to grab some popcorn for this bullshit because there have been things that were done behind our backs despite us doing everything required.
My younger children were originally placed in a traditional foster home. After a few months, the foster system looked into kinship placement. They asked my older brother and his wife, and they gladly took them in. All was fine, but it became evident that my daughter was getting too stressed out with the lengthy travel time (they live in another city about a hour away from us), so they requested the foster system look into another placement (REMEMBER THIS). My kids stayed with a short-term foster family then quickly transitioned to my cousin's home.
Now this kinship placement was PERFECT for everyone. My cousin lives in town, less than 30 minutes from us. Visits were longer and more frequent, because my cousin works from home so the kids never had to go to day care (REMEMBER THIS TOO). Our appointments were easier to get through, because we knew our kids were well taken care of thanks to my cousin's constant contact. EVERYTHING went south starting in February.
First, my daughter and son were suddenly removed from my cousin's care in which my children were THRIVING. Then, one friend's car was disabled because his catalytic converter was stolen (COMPLETELY outta nowhere while he was working). Our other friend with a car started working for Door Dash. My husband and I had had to junk our vehicle due to the transmission giving completely out. So, no transportation for us! Then, our financial situation took a heavy blow, so we lost phone service (Major factor). Gov't phones weren't an option, as one program dropped me completely for no reason (and lied about it) and others we'd tried were unreliable. So, we were hit with bad luck and shit looked BAD.
Meanwhile, our social worker basically stopped doing his job. Remember me mentioning their reasoning in Part 1? That shit goes both ways. All these texts are from this year.
Jan 20th, 5:40pm - let the worker we had new numbers. NO RESPONSE.
Jan 26th, 8:21am (permanency hearing) - asked my worker about calling into court (because COVID was still a problem). SUPER late response. Not very clear either.
Feb 4th, 2:02pm - let him know we'd moved to a different apt within our complex and included the address. NO RESPONSE.
Mar 4, 5:09pm - our CPP therapist asked if our worker had our new numbers because he claimed he didn't... REMEMBER THAT FIRST TEXT?!
Mar 9th, 12:50pm - asked our worker about restarting visitation. Quick response. Told him what days worked for us. NO RESPONSE AFTER.
This is whn my husband started trying to keep contacting him. After the last text on my phone, it was about ANOTHER month before we heard from him again. He mentioned making a request for bus passes, then literally NOTHING ELSE. A few weeks later and we lost phone service. I'm about to post a Part 3 soon, because we're pretty up to present day.
