How common is a positive BEFORE your expected period??

I see a LOT of very faint lines from posters on here at like 10-12DPO. Is this common or an exception to the rule?? I’m still 4 days away from my period and everyone tells me to just wait til the first or second missed day to test. Is it common to not get a positive if you test before your period?

First baby nothing u til period was late. Eecknd baby bfp at 8dpo. Each pregnancy is different

You can absolutely test early but it all comes down to when you actually ovulated then implantation, which is 6-12 days (avg) after ovulation. If you ovulated late or implanted early, it would delay the positive and show negative, even if you are pregnant.
