Some positive memory about your childhood?

Do you have any memories you can share? 
For me I remembered my grandfather teaching me how to read the newspaper and when I was bothering him he would roll it up and tap my head said it was so I could learn something lol 
No but I remembered the 90s that brew of morning coffee, that morning newspaper,  that my toys were really just my imagination and outside play. My teachers were my family my grandparents, teaching me how to tie my shoelaces, how to count money, how to read etc. I remember my grandfather's old typewriter where he wrote and published a book. 
I wish I got to spend more time with my grandparents, I have a lot of questions for them. 
What are some happy memories you can share or something you remembered from back in time

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because my 96 year old grandpa was hospitalized with pneumonia this week after falling repeatedly. He’s been discharged and is in a rehab unit now, but still makes me worry. My grandma passed in 2019. They were married 70 years and as much as he enjoys watching his great grandchildren, I think he’s getting ready to be reunited with his bride. 
What I remember most: 
- he’d go fishing all day and come home with a large cooler full of fish (mostly sunnies but sometimes bass and northern). He’d be out in the garage cleaning them for hours and then grandma would fry them all up and we’d have a big fish dinner with dressed cucumbers on the side. 
- he’d play Uno with my cousin and I for hours. He was so patient. Until we grew up and started playing Euchre. Then the gloves came off! 
- he’d be sleeping (or so we thought) in his recliner with some western movie on. We’d change the channel and suddenly he was wide awake demanding we put the movie back only to close his eyes again.  
- he always had Breyer’s ice cream in the freezer, which was an extra special treat because my mom always told me it was too expensive. If I hadn’t annoyed him that day, he would have some and give me a scoop in an ice cream cone shaped bowl with a spoon that had an ice cream cone shaped handle. I now have those bowls and spoons.

I remember my papa taking “one eyed naps” on the recliner in front of the tv, anytime we complained about not wanting a nap (time difference kept those going way longer than our normal naps at home) he would tell us we only had to nap with one eye and the other could watch tv, it was never long before we were taking a two eyed nap.
I remember walking along the shelves in my grandmas pantry, she had the most impressive food storage, rows and rows of canned green beans, peaches, apple pie filling, really anything she could grow or buy from a neighbors garden. I still haven’t gotten to can with her, I’ve asked her for recipes before though and they’re always “add sugar until it’s the right color”- when I ask her what color she says she goes to get one of her old jars for reference 😂
I remember my dad setting me up in the dirt to practice my violin, we had a fence back then that bordered an elk farm and while I don’t know if the elk liked my violin playing, it would definitely get their attention and they would come watch me play. I would usually get distracted from what I was supposed to be playing so I didn’t get to play out there very often, but my dad always seemed to enjoy watching me perform for a bunch of critters.
