My little girl
I had an elective induction so I can make sure my toddler had family to take care of her since we live a few hours away. On July 3rd at 330 pm, I got to the hospital to start the induction. I was already 4cm dilated. My cervix was still a little thick though. Around 530 I got my first dose of cytotec. I had to have the babies heartbeat on the monitor for 20 min then I was able to get off for an hour. I bathed. Walked. Bounced on the ball. I was able to eat whatever I wanted. Around 10 pm I get the second dose of cytotec and fall asleep. No strong contractions. There were small ones on the monitor but I didn’t feel them. I got the pitocin at 3 am and fell asleep. I wake up around 8 am then immediately feel a strong pain and fluids. My water broke literally as the doctor walked through the door. And the contractions started right away. He checked me and I was 5 cm. The contractions were back to back. I asked for the epidural. He told the nurse to get the anesthesiologist because I wasn’t going to make it. Meaning things were happening fast. Anesthesiologist starts asking questions and I couldn’t even talk. He started the process for the epidural. I couldn’t slouch the way he wanted me to because of the contractions. He hit a nerve which made things worse. I was screaming through the contractions. Didn’t want anyone talking to me. I didn’t want my husband rubbing my back. I literally threw his hand off of me. We finish the epidural process and the anesthesiologist says it’ll take about 20 min to kick in. I felt my daughter descending. The nurse got the doctor at 845 am. I was 10 cm and ready to push. I pushed with each contraction. Then I started feeling burning. Her head started coming out and the nurse told me I could touch her. I felt her head. Then the epidural started to work. She was born at 9:01 am. My beautiful Adalynn.
