Baby hates sleep

Hiya guys, how my son is 15 months old today, and I swear he hates sleep, we've probably had 3 maybe 4 nights where he's actually slept through the night, other times he'll he'll to to bed have a good couple hours sleep then about 12/1am he's awake he's screaming he's crying whatever we try to do to help calm him down he cries more, he doesnt have milk before bed, because he refuses a bottle and a dummy so he doesn't have either of these but he goes off to sleep when we put him down to start off with really well hell just turn over and go to sleep, it's just after he wakes up, we've tried working with a community nurse which suggested the cry it out method go in lie them back down leave ect and it did work for a while what can we do to get him to sleep any help would be appreciated me and dad's so tired and I'm also pregnant and hes still in our bedroom as I'm only in a 2 bed place and my eldest son has additional needs so he's unable to share with him younger brother
