When would you ask for a raise?

If you feel like you should be getting paid more considering what you have taken on at your job and other co workers when would you ask? Should I wait for my two year mark which is in February? I got a raise from $12/hr to $14/hr after my 3 months. Is it too soon? 
I’m 24 and would like to work on getting an apartment but obviously can’t due to what I’m making.

$14 an hour is ridiculous. That’s minimum wage where I am. I personally haven’t ever directly asked for a raise, because I’ve always worked at companies where you automatically got a raise at annual reviews. However, I have negotiated the raise to be higher. I’d schedule a meeting ASAP and ask for one. If they say no, look for another job somewhere else or consider getting a second job.

My last job, my coworkers all left. It went from a team of 6 down to 4 down to 3 and eventually just me. (First two laid off. One retired then the other two both decided to quit to be SAHMs). I was taking on the role of 6 people. I had to cover all their territories, the accounting and the reporting. It was so much and not a peep of a raise. I went to my boss and requested a raise - she said she was hoping I’d ask. That she was told not to offer one unless I asked. When I asked, I got a substantial increase for the extra workload.
